Through Ball is made by Spaikz LLC. Last updated October 7, 2026.
There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The app doesn't collect your name, email, location or contacts. To learn how the app is used, it counts which screens and tools are opened, anonymously (see Anonymous usage counts), and you can turn that off in More. If you turn on alerts, a push token is used to deliver them, and with Premium the app records which teams are followed (never who follows them) so their games get expert previews (see below).
To show standings, the app downloads public results pages from throughball.spaikz.com (Google Firebase Hosting). Like any website, Google receives your device's IP address when it serves those pages. Nothing about you is sent with these requests.
To see which parts of the app are used and fix what isn't working, the app counts how it's used and sends those counts to our own Google Cloud Firestore database. It's not Google Analytics or any other analytics company, and nothing is used for advertising or shared with anyone.
What's sent: which screens and tools are opened and for how long (for example "the What-if tool"), which league, age group and conference pages are viewed, whether the Premium plans were shown and whether a purchase went through, and the text of any app error. With them go: a random number the app makes when it's first opened (it isn't linked to your phone, store account or anything else, and we can't tell who it belongs to), the platform and app version, the OS version, phone or tablet, the device language and time zone, and whether Premium is on.
What's never sent: your name, email or account, the teams or clubs you follow, anything you type or search for, your location, contacts, advertising ID or device model. We don't keep IP addresses with the counts.
We add the counts up by day. The raw counts are deleted after 60 days; only the daily totals are kept.
To turn it off, open More → Privacy and switch off "Share anonymous usage". The app then deletes its random number and anything not yet sent. On the web, a browser's Global Privacy Control signal turns it off too.
Alerts are off until you add a team to them. When you do, your phone asks you for permission to show notifications and then registers with Apple's or Google's push service through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which gives it a random push token. The app subscribes that token to a topic for each team you chose (for example "results for this team"), and we send each alert to the topic, not to you. We never see the token, your name or your phone, and we can't tell who is subscribed. Remove a team, or switch alerts off in your phone's settings, and the subscription stops. Firebase Analytics is not used. See Firebase's privacy information.
With Premium, the app records each team you follow (in alerts, or as your team) in our Google Cloud Firestore database: the league, the team's id and the day it was last seen. Nothing else is stored with it: no token, device id, name or account, so we can't tell who follows a team, only that someone does. Before those teams' games we write previews from public results, Through Ball's model, the US National Weather Service forecast and OpenStreetMap, with the help of Anthropic's Claude AI. Nothing about you is sent to the AI. Teams nobody has opened the app for in three weeks are dropped. The previews themselves, and the news stories (Insights tab), are read from the same database; Google receives your IP address when the app loads them. Which stories mention your clubs is worked out on your device.
Premium is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see your card details or your name. The app only asks the store which Premium products your account owns.
The app shows youth soccer team results that are already public. It shows team and club names only, never players' names or photos, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
